Water, water, everywhere!

By November 17, 2017News

Each passing day of construction gets us closer and closer to opening day. We don’t have an opening date just yet, but we hope to within the next couple of weeks, and we will announce the opening day on Facebook, our website, and through our e-newsletter, so stay tuned! There has been a tremendous amount of construction happening at the job site! All of the waterslides are completely installed, and the activity pool and children’s area are all ready for water.

The motors for the retractable roof began installation in October, as well as the interactive children’s play structure (Rascal’s Round-Up), the first portion of the pool decking, and the installation of the FlowRider. Permanent power also came into play, beautifully illuminating the structure at night.

On October 3rd, we held our first Media Day, which marked the first time for the opening of the retractable roof. Once our waterpark opens, Epic Waters will be the largest indoor water park under a single retractable roof in the nation! Our roof is 160 feet wide by 384 feet long, roughly the size of a football field, and it reaches 83 feet high at its peak, tall enough to cover the park’s water slide tower.

Nearing the end of October, the FlowRider was completed, the final section of the lazy river was excavated and prepped for final formation, and the location of the outdoor wavepool began excavation.

The plastering began earlier this week, and the lazy river alone took over 12 hours to complete because we have the longest lazy river in Texas! AND BIG NEWS…. the WATER began filling the pools this past Thursday!!! The waterpark has also gotten greener – The palm trees and plants are being planted throughout the facility!

Team News

The Epic Waters executive team continues to grow with each passing day, and the individuals selected to be a part of the team collectively share an extensive knowledge of the waterpark, hospitality, entertainment, and leisure industries.

In September, the Management Team gathered together for a 3-day, 2-night retreat at The Lodge at Loyd Park on Joe Pool Lake. The team discussed and developed a way to bring about the Epic Spark, which will become a standard to which Guest Service is provided on a daily basis by each and every member of the team.

At the beginning of November, the Management Team partnered with Habitat for Humanity for an all-day build, which took place in the Como neighborhood of west Fort Worth. We were asked to construct a 1,150-square foot residence, which would be completed within the next month and would open its door to a deserving family. Not only was it a wonderful team-building experience, but it was a time in which we could give back to the community.
