Grand Opening was a SPLASH!

Can you believe it?! Our opening day has come and gone! We’ve seen thousands of people come through our doors, and prior to opening, we declared that our goal was to make each and every guest smile on the way into and out of the park.

Well, that happened. And then some. Once any guest enters the park, they are not only relieved to get out of the cold and into the 85 degree weather, they are immediately greeted with the most incredible view of waterslides, a lazy river, guests surfing on the FlowRider, beautiful landscaping, fun, funky blue umbrellas, and friendly Team Members, eager to answer questions. Guests are then funneled into the retail space, where they can browse Epic Waters logo’ed gear, swimwear, goggles, toys, and souvenirs. Once a guest has  visited the admissions desk at the back part of the retail space to purchase either a day ticket or Annual Pass, they walk through our 4,000 square foot arcade, and then back into the waterpark. This is where the fun begins.

For guests needing to change from their warm, cozy winter clothes into their swimwear, they begin making their way down to the changing and locker rooms. By walking down what is now deemed as “Main Street,” guests will pass the Mini Melts cart, the Hungry Wave (our cafe, serving only the best and unique foods around), a bank of lockers, and the windows overlooking the deck space from inside the party rooms on the second level. The sights and sounds will have children and adults alike impatiently ready for a jump in the pool or a ride down a slide.

Guests of all ages can enjoy our lazy river, named Rio Grand, which features periodic waves for a fun trip around the longest indoor lazy river in Texas. There is also the activity pool, called the Swimming Hole, where everyone can either wade in the water, or play basketball with friends. The FlowRider allows guests the ability to boogie board or stand-up on a FlowBoard. The children’s area, Rascal’s Round-Up is perfect for those under 48″ – It’s a place to splash, play, and enjoy being a kid! Just watch out for the MASSIVE tipping bucket, which will drop 300 gallons of water every couple of minutes.

The waterslides can’t be beat! For those over 48″ tall, there is the Texas Twist, the Aquanaut and the Yellowjacket Drop (which are both two-seater inner tube slides), the Lasso Loop (which is the tallest indoor Aqualoop in the US), and the Prairie Plunge. The e-Racers mat racer slides are perfect for those 42″ and they can race their friends and family!

Cabanas are also filled with families enjoying waitstaff cabana service, and a private space to relax and unwind. Tables, chairs, and umbrellas are first come, first serve, and even with over 1,000 people in the park, there is still ample spaces for everyone.

On opening day, January 12th, 100 guests braved the cold, and were able to go home with Annual Passes. Over the past week, we have gained over 21,000 new Facebook followers!!! Outside of tv, radio, and billboards, social media is the quickest way in real-time to interact with guests, and see how quickly shares and posts can spread the word about our waterpark.

We had close to 1,300 guests in the park yesterday, and each day we’re hitting new attendance and revenue goals each and every day.

Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark is truly an incredible addition to Dallas-Fort Worth, and we look forward to making each and every one of our guest’s days EPIC!

We’ve inherited a new phrase which we  “Welcome to summer!”

I wanted to take a moment to THANK YOU for the VIP invitation to the EPIC GRAND OPENING on Thursday, January 11 th. My husband, Al and I were in awe of such an extremely EPIC, awesome, State-of- the Art facility in our GRAND city!
The moment we walked in to the facility, we felt as if we had just stepped onto the Lido Deck on the cruise ship we had planned on celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary on. Mother was diagnosed with cancer, my sister, Juanita suffered a stroke and then we lost mother to the cancer. We never were able to take our anniversary cruise which may have been a blessing in disguise. The week we were going to have been on the cruise…Yep! A hurricane!! Anyway, we had our own little celebration with the open bar, delicious dinner, great conversations, etc… We tried for most all the raffles but this was the Thursday the temperature dropped down to the teens, so home we went a bit before the evening ended. Congratulations to all the winners of the raffles and CONGRATULATIONS to our GRAND city on an EPIC WATERPARK! We look forward to enjoying a few days out there!
